On Thanksgiving Weekend October 11, 12 & 13, 2008, 18 people of St. Saviour's along with family and friends spent an enjoyable weekend in Churchill, Manitoba touring the town and seeing the polar bears on the tundra.
We flew up on a charter aircraft early Saturday morning and upon arrival were transported to the town, the tundra, and Cape St. Mary for sight seeing.
On Sunday and Monday we spent the day on the Tundra Buggy and saw nine bears. We were also able to tour the Lodge that stays on the Tundra during polar bear season.
We wish to thank Lynda and Merv Gunter of Frontiers North and our guide JP for organizing this tour for us and making it so memorable. (Be sure to view more pictures after you have seen the following:)
